Information You Send
A name, phone number, or address entered in a search box is sent to the third-party service that supplies the sponsored results. Newark Residents Directory does not retain a copy of those search terms on its own servers. If you contact the operators, the message and any reply information are used to respond to that inquiry.
Routine Technical Logs
The hosting service may record an IP address, browser type, requested pages, and timestamps. Those ordinary logs help diagnose errors, measure aggregate traffic, and keep the pages available. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics or, where enabled, advertising measurement.
How We Use the Limited Data
Information is used to operate the pages, answer messages, fix technical issues, understand broad traffic patterns, and improve the reference. The operators do not build individual visitor profiles or sell a visitor list.
Links to Custodians and Tools
The directory links to Alameda County portals, Newark offices, California agencies, libraries, archives, courts, and third-party search tools. Once a link is followed, the destination's privacy policy and data practices apply. Sponsored search results are provided by an outside company and are not controlled by Newark Residents Directory.
Who Receives Technical Data
Hosting and support vendors may process server logs while providing their services. If analytics or advertising measurement is active, those partners may receive the automatic technical information described above. Information is disclosed when valid legal process requires it and otherwise is not shared as a visitor profile.
Security and Retention
The pages use an encrypted connection, and technical logs are kept only while the operational purpose requires them. There are no visitor accounts, passwords, or personal profiles stored by this reference for a user to manage.
Visitors Under 18
The reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. The operators do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor has sent personal information, a message through the Contact page can request review and deletion.
California Data Rights
California's Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, is codified in Civil Code sections 1798.100 and following. Depending on the person and the data involved, it can provide rights to know or access, correct, delete, limit certain sensitive-data uses, and opt out of sale or sharing, subject to statutory exceptions. California's Delete Act also created the CPPA DROP deletion platform for covered data-broker requests.
Because Newark Residents Directory keeps very little, a request normally means checking the contact mailbox and available server logs, then removing eligible information. Use the Contact page to ask. Public records held by the City of Newark, Alameda County, California agencies, libraries, or courts are outside this reference's control. A removal or correction request for one of those records must go to its custodian under the custodian's rules.
Changes to This Policy
When the handling practices or legal details change, a revised policy will be posted here. Continued use after a revision indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
